The village of La Grange, a suburb of Chicago, is a village in Cook County, Illinois with a population of nearly 16,000 residents. La Grange is only 16 miles west of Chicago, or a 30-minute train ride on the Metra. From its variety of ethnic restaurants, craft shows and boutiques, to the nearby Salt Creek Trail and Bemis Woods Forest Preserve, the quaint town of La Grange harbors a true small town feel with a variety of opportunities and events.
La Grange maintains 78.5 acres of parkland throughout 11 locations, and offers over 1,500 recreation programs annually for its residents.
Since 1947, La Grange has held an annual Pet Parade through downtown. Grand marshals for the parade have included LBJ’s daughter Luci Baines Johnson, “The Partridge Family” stars Susan Dey and Danny Bonaduce, and elephants and donkeys from Brookfield Zoo.
